Cristino Wapichana was born in Roraima. Having listened to his mother and his grandmother telling many stories, Cristino fought to foster the appreciation of the languages and stories of his people, creating songs that won awards at music festivals in his region. He lived in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, and his words have travelled the world, making their way to award lists in Brazil, Sweden and Bologna, among others. Cristino, an expert storyteller, reminds us that each story owns itself and creates a little opening that allows us a peek into all the magic that can be contained in a person’s life.
